Angie

Angie

Manager

Growing up an only child, what Angie lacked in siblings she more than made up for with all the pets she had over the years, from cats and dogs, to turtles, mice, and rats, to hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, birds, and rabbits…you name it, she had it! At age 12, Angie became a vegetarian as a deeper and more meaningful way to embrace her love and respect for animals. It came as no surprise that she would one day end up working in the veterinary field!

Angie’s very first job was a kennel technician. While she ended up working in management and finance for a good portion of her career, she always found a way to still work part time or volunteer with various rescue organizations. Angie ultimately found her way back to full-time animal care when she took on the role of Office Manager here at Village Vet of Urbana. Her favorite part of the job is seeing patients come in for their follow up visits feeling so much better than they did when they first arrived.

At home, Angie is the proud mom of three boys ranging in age from high school to newborn. Their fur family consists of a Guinea pig named Ginger, a puggle named Charlotte, a chi-weenie named Alabama (a.k.a. Allie), a tortoiseshell cat named Coalie, and the newest addition, Tator Tot (a.k.a. Fluff), a kitten whom Angie rescued at just two-weeks old.

In what little spare time she has, Angie is attending school to become a veterinary technician.

Olivia

Olivia

Veterinary Technician

A lifelong resident of Frederick, Olivia grew up riding and showing horses, and helping at barns. As she grew older, she knew she wanted a career that would challenge her and help her grow, and the veterinary industry certainly fit the bill. As one of the techs here at Village Vet, Olivia’s goal is to help our patients and their owners feel more comfortable during their visits.

Olivia graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Frederick Community College and immediately began working at a local spay and neuter clinic. When she was ready to spread her wings and advance her career further, she joined the Village Vet team in December of 2020 where she’s worked her way up over the years to become a technician. In addition to new puppy and kitten appointments, Olivia’s favorite clinical tasks include drawing blood and running in-house lab tests.

At home, Olivia is mom to a Karelian bear dog named Delilah, who loves people, other dogs, and bumble bees. In her down time, Olivia loves to travel and would love to visit all 50 states one day. While she no longer rides, she still has an interest in horses and fondly recalls her time competing on the equestrian team in high school.

Alex

Alexandra

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Growing up, Alexandra’s family moved around quite a bit, but regardless of where they ended up, they always had a few pets in tow. When the family finally settled down in Mount Airy, Alexandra got a job working on a local farm, and it was there that she learned about Village Vet of Urbana. She joined the team in August of 2023 with the goal of helping animals in the community and making a difference.

Alexandra took several animal care-related classes in high school and also gained hands-on experience working with animals on the farm. Learning about veterinary medicine has been a challenge but one that Alexandra embraces wholeheartedly. Professionally, she takes great pride in helping ensure that patients have a positive experience and is currently learning the various techniques for calming anxious pets.

At home, Alexandra is fur-mom to two cats of her own, both of whom are playful but laid back. Freyja loves to sprint up and down the halls and annoy her older counterpart, Hunter, who would much rather be left alone. Some of Alexandra’s many hobbies include drawing, playing guitar, and thrifting with her best friend. Finding that coveted designer item for a steal is like striking gold.

Erin

Erin

Client Service Representative

Erin grew up in the rural college town of Athens, Ohio. As a young child, you could usually find her at the library looking up books about animals or running around outside and exploring the natural world. There were always pets around, from dogs and cats to hermit crabs, turtles, and hamsters. She was also involved in 4-H and had a horse named Cami. This upbringing instilled in Erin a deep love of animals large and small, and an innate desire to do something that would have an impact on their lives.

Prior to joining the Village Vet family in July of 2021, Erin owned and operated her own dog walking and pet sitting business. With her clients’ encouragement, she attended grooming school and now owns her own mobile pet grooming service. Erin’s part-time CSR position with VVU allows her to see the positive difference her assistance makes for our clients and their pets. Professionally, she enjoys scheduling appointments and making sure our clients and patients feel calm and welcome when they visit the clinic.

When she’s not busy working, Erin enjoys reading, playing the piano, and taking walks and hikes with her dog, Blue (a.k.a. “Blueberry”, “Blueberry Cheesecake”, and “Bluey”). Blue is a beagle dachshund mix who has one brown and one blue eye. He is a (mostly) mellow and loving little guy who loves to accompany Erin to work. He is well-traveled and has even hiked around Niagara Falls.

An avid volunteer, Erin frequently finds ways to serve and give back to the community, particularly those who are unhoused or food insecure.
